Select 2026 Kia vehicles are equipped with multiple USB ports, and not all of them serve the same purpose. Knowing the difference helps you quickly explain connectivity, charging, and infotainment features during vehicle delivery.

Vehicles with USB-C Ports

Some 2026 Kia models include two types of USB-C ports (multimedia and device charging), along with a 12V power outlet (If Equipped).

A) Multimedia USB-C Port

  • Supports wired Apple® CarPlay® and Android Auto
  • Can play music from a USB device
  • Used for infotainment software updates
  • Function can be switched between data transfer and charging only by pressing the button to the right (B)

B) Multimedia USB-C Port Switch

  • Press to switch between data transfer and charging only functionality
  • Top LED on: Charging only
  • Bottom LED on: Data transfer and charging enabled

C) Device-Charging USB-C Port

  • Marked with a battery icon
  • Used for charging only

D) 12V Power Outlet (if equipped)

  • Labeled “12V”
  • Powers compatible 12-volt devices
  • Push to open or close the outlet cover

(without 12V Power Outlet)

Vehicles with USB-A and USB-C Ports

Other 2026 model year Kia vehicles may feature USB-A and/or USB-C ports, and a 12V power outlet.

E) 12V Power Outlet

  • Provides power for compatible 12-volt devices

F) Multimedia USB-A Port

  • Supports Apple® CarPlay® and Android Auto
  • Plays music from USB devices
  • Used for infotainment software updates

G) Device-Charging USB-C Port

  • Identified by a battery icon
  • Designed for charging only

Important Notes to Share with Customers

  • Some infotainment systems with wireless Apple® CarPlay® do not support wired CarPlay®
  • USB ports function only when the vehicle is on or in accessory mode
  • Device-Charging USB ports charge faster than Multimedia USB ports
  • Always use manufacturer-certified charging cables
  • Port locations may vary by vehicle
